Last Week I took the OCA and passed with 85%. It took 12 weeks nearly flat out studying/preparation. Hadn't done any Java in about 15 year's (1.3) since left college but had 10 years of C# work related.

The Enthuware mocks are extremely hard but great preparation and the Discussion forms links for every question are excellent. I think I learnt more in the last 12 weeks in my 25 years of programming starting off with C and Cobol.

I was scoring less on the mock exams but managed to pass all of them, always struggling for more time. I also done the Whizlabs mocks and my score was always slightly higher in the mocks but the more questions you do and figure out where you went wrong, just felt I was more prepared.

While dong the exam I think I should of mark every question for review and then write down want actual questions that needed to be revised because I didn't mark any of the last 15 questions and had to click the next button to get through them. Wouldn't of matter much with the few minutes I had left but just letting you know.

Now onto the long road to OCP. 7-8 months of fun should do it. ;)

Thanks you

I passed the Exam with 71%.
Would like to find out which question I answered wrong, I don't know if that is possible?

What I would recommend to take enough time for it.
Working your job and preparing for the exam is less effective.

How many time do you think should I need for OCP which I heard is harder ?

I think the book is overall good but I also think that some chapters need a bit of imprevement for example:
Precedence & associativity and Polymorphism and maybe Multidimensional arrays.

My thougts on the exam are that 3h for 70 questions are really not that much. You can easily ran out of time. I dont really understand why is so little time available. I think extra half hour should be available.

And also I dont see the point of knowing all those string/stringbuilder/Date APIs by heart. You can find details for any method on the internet.

Hi,

today I passed the 817 Upgrade exam with 84%. Very happy about it!
Btw: It was 80 questions and 3h. (Somewehere I read upgrade would only be 2h and 60 questions. Nope! It was a big one!)
Thanks to Enthuware for the exams!

That's great! Congratulations!!
Please do give your feedback about the exam such as question topics that you found difficult to answer, whether any question was from a topic not mentioned in the exam objectives or anything that you found interesting/out of ordinary in the exam. Did our mock exams cover everything?
thank you,
Paul.

Hi, everyone!
Yesterday I passed my first 1Z0-815 exam. In preparation, I used only Enthuware mack exams.
FT: 79%
T1: 65%
T2: 77%
T3: 71%
T4: 75%
T5: 80%
T6: 72%
LDT: 63% (It was late night, I was tired)

Real exam result: 82%. Very appreciate to Enthuware for the helpful materials.
P.S.: contrary to expectations in my exam there was about 4 questions from Date/Time API

What were the 4 questions from Date/Time API about?
1) How many new objects are created using methods from LocalDate class
2) Switch by DayOfWeek enum
3) Сalling with(DayOfWeek) method on LocalDate object
4) Predicate<LocalDate> lambda expression

Nothing complicated but unexpected.

Hi all,

two days ago I passed 1Z-808 exam with the 81%. My last day test score was 79%. The questions were very similar to them from mock tests. And of course I have forgotten, what does the "remove" of ArrayList return :-) .

Special thank to Paul for very clear, deep and patient explanations in the question discussions.

My next goal is the 1Z-816. ;-)
