Is DecimalFormat on the syllabus? It is not even referred to once in the study material I have been using.

Yes, it is required. We can't comment on other study material. Our material is based on feedback received from our exam takers and we update our material on a regular basis. We include new questions as and when required to keep up with the changes in the real exam.

You should keep ready in case. I was lucky enough to study non-generic ArrayLists
for OCJA 7 because luckily I saw one question of it in the sample question paper while it wasn't their in the portion. Btw since DecimalFormat is a subclass of NumberFormat, you should expect it to come and the reference I have mentions it but not its methods.
