How is ยง8.1.3 (Inner Classes and Enclosing Instances) related to assertions? I read the whole section and can't see the relation. That's true that it mentions "lexical nesting", but in the context of classes, not expressions.

No relation. But I don't see it mentioned in the explanation of this question. Where did you see it exactly?

I also don't see it in the questions bank (actually, I don't see any explanation there), but I looked it up in the tests I attempted.
