Would the question be more precise if it asked:

Which of the following RowSet interfaces always maintains a connection to the database?

No, that would be more confusing because there is only one RowSet interface. RowSet interfaces doesn't make any more sense than the term RowSets. Any interface that extends RowSet is-a RowSet. Since there are several interfaces that extend RowSet, the problem statement uses the term RowSets.
