etsviewer.jar is corrupted & having trojan virus, getting error "Threads Found"

Post by tailor.loki »

Hi Team,

What sort of jar are you all creating, just curious !!

The windows defender detected Trojan script for the etsviewer.jar file.

PFA the screenshots.

Having purchased the subscription and facing such issues is really dissapointing.

Kindly assist here.

Thanks,
Lokeshwar.

Hello,
There is no virus in the jar. It is a false positive. It is a properly signed jar with digital signature of the company. The Java application does create threads to download the question bank file and to check for recent updates. That is why some virus scanners issue such warning.

I just scanned the file using virustotal.com's scanner and it reported no virus. You may check the same.

Also, the trial version is free. You may use it and see if it works to your satisfaction. Or you may also use the web version, which does not require you to install anything.

@admin - thanks for the response.

the link you shared is not accessible. i.e. https://www.codeproject.com/Questions/5

strangely, re-downloading the jar didn't give the same error and it worked!
