Why aren't there 12 ? If 2 Customer has each 3 Orders, the tables look like:

Code: Select all

Customer Order
Cust1 Ord1Cust1
Cust2 Ord2Cust1
                           Ord3Cust1
                           Ord1Cust2
                           Ord2Cust2
                           Ord3Cust2
And a cross-join between these is 1x6 + 1x6 :) If it would have been a join then it would have been 6.

You are right. The explanation also says the same thing that there is no where clause but doesn't realize that the problem statement says 3 orders for each customer. So it should be 12.

this has now been fixed. Thank you for your valuable feedback!
