Why aren't there 12 ? If 2 Customer has each 3 Orders, the tables look like:

And a cross-join between these is 1x6 + 1x6 If it would have been a join then it would have been 6.

You are right. The explanation also says the same thing that there is no where clause but doesn't realize that the problem statement says 3 orders for each customer. So it should be 12.
