look in java6 api for javax.naming.initialContext. It does not have menthod getUserTransaction(). How can this be called?

You are right, it should actually be EJBContext. This has now been fixed.

I too often wondered about this ambiguity and was left helpless.I am glad you cleared the air as it has made be a bit more confident.
